| Detail | Sudachi citrus is one of the symbolic agricultural products of Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. The amount of sudachi citrus peel waste generated during the production of sudachi juice is 800 tons per year. Tokushima Prefecture and Tokushima University have found the anti-diabetic effect of sudachitin contained in sudachi citrus peel waste. With this unused resource, we have developed up-cycle products through industry-government-academia collaboration. We will introduce in our presentation these products as well as our activities that contribute to the SDGs. | ||

A fungus (Isaria japonica) grown on silkworm pupae (Bombyx mori) is a type of cordyceps.Our group has found the useful ingredient “Naturido” from I.japonica fungus grown on silkworm and are doing study on the cognitive function of Naturido.
In this time, we will introduce the ability of Naturido to improve cognitive function, the first cordyceps to be aimed for a food with functional claims notification. |

Cordyceps has been reported to have many functions. We have confirmed the effects of a fungus (Isaria japonica) grown on silkworm pupae on sleep improvement and male function through tests in vivo and in vitro and observational studies in humans.
