Energy-saving, heat-tolerant hollow fiber membrane modules for food and beverages, and novel antiviral particles with excellent immediate effects
Toray has developed a hollow fiber membrane module for food and beverage manufacturing processes.
This module can be sterilized by steam and can stably filter highly turbid and highly viscous liquids, contributing to improved microbiological safety and energy savings in processes.
In addition, Toray has developed a new antiviral particle, which can inactivate viruses about 100 times faster than conventional one. These particles can be expected to enhance food sanitation management.

Title | Toray’s separation membrane technology that contributes to energy saving in food and beverage manufacturing processes | ||
Detail | In the food and beverage manufacturing process, large amount of thermal energy is required in various processes such as concentration, powdering, and sterilization. However, energy saving is getting more important issue for carbon neutrality. Our new hollow fiber membrane module achieves steam sterilization and stable operation in highly turbid / viscous liquids, contributing to energy saving and microbiological safety in customer’s manufacturing processes. |
