In Japan, eight food items are designated as "specified raw materials" due to the frequency or severity of the allergic reactions they cause. Consequently, it is mandatory for any food product containing these allergens to declare them on its label.
This presentation will explain the official testing methods for these food allergens, based on the appendix "Inspection Methods for Foods Containing Allergens" from the 2015 Labelling Standards for Food (Notification Shoshokuhyo No. 139). |
