Zingiber zerumbet is a species of plant in the ginger family. The rhizome extracts of Z. zerumbet have been used in healthcare and may help decrease symptoms of respiratory system issues. Z. zerumbet contains a unique compound named zerumbone, which has a variety of physiological effects. It has been confirmed to be effective in treating asthma and COPD in Phase II clinical trials.
